On July 9, 2012, we began following a program to lose weight and improve our health. As of the launch of this blog on September 1, 2012, we’ve been following the program for seven weeks and we’ve lost a combined total of 70 pounds! Read more about how we got started.
This program is powerful, effective, and transformational. But we’re not here to sell anyone anything. We’re not here to convert anyone, or to proselytize any particular way of life or thinking. We simply wish to share what’s worked for us, because we all learn from each other. In fact, you don’t need to be on the program to use our meal ideas and recipes to add some healthy choices to your kitchen repertoire.
One of the key components of the program is the daily “Lean and Green” meal you prepare for yourself. The primary purpose of this blog is to share the ideas we generate in our kitchen, plus recipes we collect (and usually tweak) from other sources.
While eating healthy food is a huge part of the lifestyle changes we’re making, the program also encompasses exercise and learning more about fostering good health in general. So occasionally, we may also write posts about our stories and our journey down this path, the program itself, updates on our progress, and resources we find along the way, and we may share thoughts, musings, reflections, observations, and lessons learned.
Please note: We are not nutritionists. We are not dieticians. We have no formal training in cooking, preparing or handling food. We present only examples and ideas that we have tried and enjoyed. The ideas and recipes on this site have not been reviewed by a nutritionist and we don’t claim they comply with any specific program’s requirements. They are, however, part of our program that is working for us. Feel free to take these ideas, but please modify them to suit your own nutritional requirements. We can assume no liability for your use of any information on this site.
